Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment (LVIA)

Windmill

I have a wide range of experience working on many different LVIAs for various clients. I have worked on LVIAs for wind farms, solar farms, motorway bridges, residential developments and most recently a quarry. My LVIA work has included:

Project Management

I have project managed several urban environmental schemes from inception to completion taking the schemes from initial site visits and sketch designs through to practical completion on site, using both the JCLI and JCT Minor Works contracts. I completed a tender package for both these projects, completed the tender report, appointed the winning contractor, chaired the pre-start meeting, completed site progress visits, issued Architect’s Instruction, valuation and practical completion certificates. Two of these projects are outlined below:

Urban Environmental Improvement Scheme

The project was subdivided into four small schemes to make significant environmental improvements throughout the estate. Two of these are shown below.

Footpath - to create a formal footpath over an existing desire line

Boundary Fencing scheme

This project was to create boundary fencing on a cul-de-sac of residential flats. This project involved successfully applying for planning permission which included writing a Design and Access Statement.

Planting Schemes

I have completed many planting plans and schedules for various sites including parks, residential care homes, village halls and housing estates. Planting schemes include a CAD plan with schedule detailing the number, species and density of plants and advice can be provided on maintenance, establishment, protection of plants with a specification as required.

Community Consultation and Engagement

I have engaged and consulted with local communities on many urban environmental improvement schemes including the two shown above. Most recently I worked on playground improvements at Golcar J I & N School. The Assistant Headteacher had an idea to create a range of boards depicting shops from the local village to facilitate role play with the children during outdoor play. I developed her initial idea into a workable scheme and after completing an initial cost estimate I then became involved in raising funds. I then coordinated a team of volunteers, to create the boards as shown below. This work was voluntary.
